The following was accomplished in a most professional way on a very scheduled timeline.
The entire color scheme of the house changed, making it fresh and inviting yet bold and brilliant. Rearrangement of existing furniture gave a new feel to our home and specific rooms. Tasteful pieces of art and decor with different themes and textures were added. Cabinet handles, mirrors and faucets were changed, which gave the bathrooms and the kitchen new dimensions. Carpet and countertops changed. With these changes Ellinor matched the colors in an innovative way, which we have received so many positive comments about.
A couple of things that Ellinor pointed out in the beginning was a suggestion to double the size of our baseboards. This was nothing we had thought about doing, however, placing our trust in her we did, and what an unbelievable difference it made! She also suggested extending our eating area by using an additional tile and half space into our family room. This has allowed us to eat at the table moving freely without having to reposition it when we eat. The mood of our meals changed, we can move around the table and still have ample room for any activity in the family room. Such a difference.
Another amazing thing that Ellinor did for us, she strongly suggested that we put area rugs under our master bed, sitting room and pool table. This took a little more time to sink in. But, again we could not be more happier or surprised. Now, stepping out of bed, even though our bedroom is tiled, our feet still sinks into a nice rug, giving us the cozy feeling you want in your bedroom. The dynamics of the room changed and gave us the warm feel we were hoping for. The pool table area took on a look of it's own with the use of an area rug, and the sitting room rug was used as a room divider without having one.
Previously, our front room arrangment did not work. When walking into our home you would first walk into a pool table however...again heeding her expertise, we totally flopped the room and now have a very nice sitting area. As well as an appropriate area that we can enjoy and show off our baby grand piano. This beautiful piece had been in the corner and seldom noticed. This change was also done in part by the rugs, a couple of decor pieces and a sitting chair arrangement that invited you to sit and enjoy the rest of the room. The pool table was now an accent to the room not the main attraction.
We have lived in our home for 14 years and the only time the living room was used was for occasionally entertaining. With this new arrangement, our family has turned to this room for peace and comfort. It can expand and take in the pool table area if needed or stay small and cozy with the focus away from the pool table. Ellinor also selected a very large and impressive art piece for one of the walls. Simple in concept, it brought such a change and finish to the entire room. Compliments are frequent of how much this works towards the beauty of this room. It has a boldness about it but not overbearing. We really thought it was a stroke of genius seeing the finished project.
In our very common neighborhood filled with similar color schemes, Ellinor again suggested we step out of the box and opt to change the outside color of our home. The best way to describe this change and it's effect would be to say we have neighbors and passerby’s stop if we are outside to compliment us on what a change and unique look we have made. We love driving up to it. Seeing the change it made still takes our breath away and brings a smile knowing what changes are inside as well. A beautiful happy place that our family calls home.
